AstraZeneca
Launched in 2024, AstraZeneca developed an AIenabled stakeholder intelligence platform that mines, integrates, and analyzes fragmented healthcare data to identify complex networks of healthcare professionals and uncover relationships that influence treatment decisions for Veterans with blood cancers across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Initially created to support awareness of the VA’s evidence-based treatment pathways and formulary recommendations for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), the platform has evolved into a scalable enterprise capability.
The AI-driven framework aggregates information from multiple sources—including public federal healthcare websites, provider directories, academic institutions, community care network resources, and AstraZeneca’s internal databases—to uncover physician affiliations and stakeholder relationships that traditional customer mapping cannot identify. AI-powered analytics clean, standardize, and connect fragmented data, incorporating geographic proximity insights, while a human-in-the-loop validation process enables field teams and subject matter experts to continuously refine and enrich the intelligence.
Unlike static customer lists, the platform creates a dynamic, continuously evolving view of stakeholder networks that is embedded into AstraZeneca’s customer intelligence ecosystem and CRM platforms. This provides Brand, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Federal Account teams with a shared source of stakeholder intelligence to support coordinated engagement and strategic decision-making.
What began as a Calquence-focused initiative in 2024 has expanded across additional oncology brands, establishing a new operating model that combines AI, network mapping, human expertise, and enterprisewide integration to improve stakeholder engagement across the federal healthcare system.
