University of California, union near May 14 strike deadline with no deal in hand

Less than two days away from deadline, tens of thousands of University of California workers show little interest in calling off their system-wide strike. A union representing 25,000 UC Health service and patient care workers has so far rebuffed updated contract offers from the public institution. More talks are scheduled through Wednesday.
